Walking and telling stories with Akin in the forest

Lina took a leave from work to relax in Dali after encountering some troubles at work. One night, feeling restless and with no sleep, she suddenly decided to sign up for Ajin's stream rock painting activity, but she didn't want to climb the mountain. Ajin then quickly changed her route to one that leads to the forest, ancient trail, abandoned houses, and temples. We stopped on a path lined with towering trees.CenAjin habitually took out a notebook and started drawing.Lina chatted with Yang Qiao. The wind blew, and sunlight filtered through the trees, dappling the ground and grass. Lina said, “Why not start a poetry-writing activity?” Everyone could write a poem, a story, or draw a picture in the mountains, then recite, share, and tell their stories. How fun would that be!

The first poet we met on Cangshan was Ranjie.

Actually, during our previous tea-picking activity on Cangshan, we did such an activity. The guests participating in that event were from Canada, and her name was Ranjie (we became friends later). She said she wanted to read her poems to me under the wild tea trees. Wow! I thought that was such a romantic thing! Ranjie read two poems, one called “Women Control Time” and the other “Cobblestone.” We were sitting on the ground beneath a pine forest, with good sunlight, and the heavy building swaying in the breeze. The shadows of the trees flickered, and the sound of tea-picking dripped, dividing time into the moments I wanted. The faint footsteps added a soft, adjustable layer to the space, with a restrained sense of collapse.

Later, our Xiao Shu Sha also read a poem she wrote.“The Rainbow Fell Down”

I am standing on a tall bridge

The bridge started moving

It said: "Help!"

The rainbow fell down

Turned into a banana

I want to write poetry, but not everyone can do it; however, everyone can tell stories effortlessly and share a few. We can tell the story or draw it. If you don't want to speak or talk, then listen to me.

Activity Introduction:

This should be a very relaxing activity. You might enjoy nature, literature, painting, or maybe just want to find someone to talk to, or say nothing at all. Perhaps you like to write something, draw something, things that seem unimportant, shy, and timid. In the mountains, every cloud and leaf can embrace you, or you can participate in the whole process just by observing with your eyes and ears, taking a walk, picking some plants, or having a forest picnic.

Our main route is to first visit the temple, see the adorable White Dragon King and the judges, then walk along a quiet dirt road into the mountains. We will drink something, chat, settle down to do something quietly—write poetry, stories, draw, or enjoy the sky.

We will share our creations, whether by reading aloud, displaying, or singing.
